Mountaineer for one day

Hello friends :)

The Sunday before Mitasai festival, when the whole week was free of classes, the PLURIO international club of Keio University invited us to go on an adventure: Climbing Mount Takao and marvelling at colourful autumn leaves! Because the season has not started in Tokyo yet, I took the opportunity and went almost 2 hours by train to the foot of Takao-san.

We hiked the 3km, steep road in around 90 minutes, trying not to trip over mighty tree roots and fall into lively mountain streams (okay, it was not that bad)...

... and were rewarded with red and yellow leaves in bright sunshine and views from 599 meters above ground. We stayed for an hour looking at the scenery and eating lunch, before heading down a different road. Unfortunately, peak season for autumn colours on Mount Takao is only at the end of November. I would highly recommend to go there at this time - it must be even more wonderful!

I also got to know some very kind, interesting and funny people along the way :) Meet Sae, Sin Yee and Yu!

Our group! You can see me hidden in the back, hehe

Apparently, you can also see Fuji-san from here - but it was just too misty

On the way down - Burning incense at Takao-san Yakuo-in Yuki-ji temple

You can find these everywhere along the road and each of them has a different symbol on it for the six buddhist senses: Nose, tongue, ear, eye, body and mind
